We became aggressive with the Coronavirus

Stating people are deprived of their freedom during the Covid-19 quarantine and this situation causes a feeling of frustration, Clinical Psychologist Ünal Erdem Elli also added the following: “Frustration is related to aggression. People may react more aggressively to events than they normally would."

Clinical Psychologist Elli indicated, “Aggressive reactions will lead to a breakdown in limited social relationships. The most essential element to cope with the psychological factors in question created by the pandemic process is to remember that emotions such as anxiety, fear, uncertainty and anger are useful as long as they are not excessive and do not destroy the functionality of the person. When these feelings are shared with relatives, it will be easier to deal with their negative effects, as social support elements will increase”.

“STRESS HAS NEGATIVE EFFECTS”

"There is a connection between a person's psychological and physical health. If a person does not experience intense psychological stress, the immune system becomes more resistant. Stress has a negative impact on immune system responses. Hence, measures to protect psychological health also allow for greater disease resistance.'' said Clinical Psychologist Elli from Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU).

"DO PHYSICAL EXERCISE, EAT AND SLEEP WELL''

Elli said: “Physical activities should be done to maintain physical health since better physical health is related to psychological well-being. Therefore, measures such as doing sports regularly, eating well and paying attention to sleep patterns are significant in terms of protecting both physical and psychological health during the pandemic process.''

"HUMANITY COPE WITH WELL WITH THE PANDEMIC"

Clinical Psychologist Elli also added: ''A significant number of people who have lived through the pandemic around the world feel unlucky since the epidemic occurred during their lifetime. It is critical to remember that there are still reasons to be optimistic. When compared to the Spanish flu 100 years ago, humanity is faring much better with this epidemic. In about 15 months, the Spanish flu infected one-third of the world's population and killed 3% to 5% of those infected. For Covid-19, this rate is approximately 1% infection and 001% death. Despite this, it is vital for individuals who experience persistent and intense anxiety, depressive mood, or other psychological symptoms to remember that seeking psychiatric and psychological help is an effective method of dealing with these issues and to contact specialists for professional assistance.''
